Egyptian TV presenter Hala Sarhan is set to make her comeback to the media landscape after a long absence.

In a statement to "The Insider Arabia", Sarhan stated she will return with a major program and noted that "very important" might be the title of the show.

Sarhan, born on September 1, 1952, has presented for several Arab magazines and satellite networks including Arab Radio and Television Network (ART), in which she presented the talk show “Ya Halla” (“Greetings”).

Thereafter, she presented on "Dream 2" TV channel the program “Fee al-Mamnoo’” “Forbidden”, which was among the first programs with a political focus to air on Arab satellite networks.

During her seven years with the ART network and then with Dream TV, where she became Vice President, Sarhan hosted a slew of unforgettable shows like "Ya Hala Maa Hala" (Welcome with Hala), "Al Laila Maa Hala" (Tonight with Hala), "Hala Show", and "Al Hakika" (The Truth). Her shows made her very popular with audiences, but a nuisance to the authorities and eventually she had to leave Dream and join Rotana.

She hosted Arab and Egyptian political figures on her shows and she has debated issues that others have seen as difficult to discuss on Arab television, something which has earned her praise as well as criticism.

Sarhan became Head of Production and Distribution at Rotana and established Rotana Cinema, Rotana Zaman, and Rotana Masriya.
