Famed Egyptian singer Hakim has revealed that he is considering retiring from music after 2025.

In a statement to "Shaabi FM" radio station, he disclosed that the idea has been on his mind for a long time.

"I'm always contemplating about retiring from singing at the end of 2025," he said."There has been a certain thing on my mind for a while, which is that I stop making music after the end of 2025. This idea has been on my mind for a long time, and the world is full of talented singers,".

Hakim explained, "There is nothing that had upset me about the music scene at all".

"Singing is my profession, I loved working in it and loved being in this career since I was young," he added."People loved me and singing brought me closer to people's hearts and made people love me. I'm happy with people's love for me. The music profession is wonderful and connected me to people's hearts."

Abdel Hakim Abdel Samad Kamel, better known as Hakim, was born on October 7, 1962, in Maghagha, a small town in El-Minya, Egypt.

He grew up with the sound of the working-and middle-class tradition of Egyptian Sha'abi music and admired the great Egyptian Sha'bi singer Ahmed Adaweyah.

Hakim formed a band while in high school, obtained his college degree in Cairo, and then returned to el-Minya to continue making music, before moving back to Cairo.

He collaborated with several international singers throughout his career, such as Narada Michael Walden and Olga Tañon in 2002, James Brown in 2004, and Don Omar in 2007.
