Egypt's Musicians Syndicate has lifted its ban on Lebanese singer-actress Haifa Wehbe halting her concerts performing concerts in Egypt, after reconciling with concert organizer Yasser El Hariry.
A dispute broke after the Lebanese star breached an agreement to perform a concert in North Coast, despite receiving payment. He filed a complaint that Wehbe's team accepted a deposit for a performance she never attended.
The pair met Friday at the Syndicate's legal affairs and reconciled, with Wehbe returning the payment she received.
On Tuesday, Wehbe was banned from performing concerts and taking on acting gigs following a decision by the Musicians Syndicate.
The Syndicate had also suspended the singer-actress' work permits and referred her for investigation.
Wehbe landed in hot water after she signed a deal with a film production company and failed to meet her contractual obligations, prompting the production company to file a complaint.
Moreover, a contractor complained that Wehbe's team accepted a deposit for a performance she never attended.
Despite these challenges, the Lebanese star reassured her fans on social media that she would be returning to Egypt soon.
Born on March 10, 1976, Wehbe is a Lebanese singer, actress, and TV anchor. She is one of the best female singers in Lebanon and the Arab world.
The Lebanese artist won the title of “Miss South Lebanon” at the age of sixteen, which opened the doors for her to work as a model on the catwalk as well as in music videos and TV commercials.
She was considered one of the most famous models in the Arab World. Thereafter, she worked as a TV anchor at the A.R.T. television network, however, she left that path behind to begin her music career.
In 2002, Wehbe released her first album, “Houwa El Zaman” (It Is The Time).
She made her acting debut in the 2008 Pepsi-produced film “Sea of Stars”, which was soon followed by many appearances in the Egyptian cinema and television industry.
Wehbe has released over seven albums and more than a dozen songs.
