Students of the third year of the Department of Architecture and Design at the German University in Cairo (GUC) organized an exhibition to preview their various projects that they implemented during the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020.
The focus topic of the exhibition is the creation of an integrated design for the "Library of the Future" which has an area of 4,600 square meters and is located in the Zamalek district directly on the waterfront of the Nile River.
79 students participated in the exhibition and were distributed into groups, each of which includes 4 to 5 students.
The exhibition was held under the supervision of Dr. Amr Fathi, the assistant teacher in the department and the supervisor of the projects presented with the assistance of Hana Sadiq - Ahmed Hegazy - Hull Lutfi - Joy Samuel under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Oviler assistant professor of the department.
Dr. Fathi stated that the current semester was devoted to teaching students how to present a model for an integrated design project for the future library, where mixing between studio design and building technology courses, with a focus on applying engineering and technology principles to build designs.
