A sequel to the 2020 World War II nautical action movie "Greyhound" is in development.
The sequel is part of Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's production company Playtone new multi-year overall deal with Apple TV+.
It is penned and features Hanks in the role of a naval commander who leads a fleet of Allied ships across turbulent waters.
Hanks later starred in the dystopian science-fiction movie "Finch" for Apple TV+ as well.
Through the new deal, Playtone will produce several series, unscripted projects, and documentaries for the streamer.
Prior to striking this new deal, Apple and Hanks had also collaborated on "Masters of the Air", a follow-up to Playtone and Amblin Entertainment’s beloved WWII series "The Pacific" and "Band of Brothers".
Playtone had a hand in multiple Hanks productions over the years, such as "Cast Away", "Larry Crowne", "A Hologram for the King", "The Circle", and most recently, "News of the World".
The biggest movie on Playtone’s horizon is the Elvis Presley biopic, "Elvis", starring Hanks.
