To commemorate the celebration of the royal mummies parade, which drew the world’s attention last April, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat is displaying four pieces of costumes and accessories that were used during the parade, in addition to the sheet music and the conductor’s baton, in the museum’s reception area.
Ahmed Ghoneim, Head of the Authority of the National Museum for Egyptian Civilization explained that the idea of displaying these pieces is among other ideas proposed by the museum’s administration to develop the museum’s display and commemorate the royal mummies parade, which will attract more visitors, especially those who follow culture and antiquities.
Some of the visitors expressed their admiration for the new area of display, as they took pictures next it; it always reminds them of this event that dazzled the world.
Last April, the royal mummies were relocated, in a majestic parade, from Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the NMEC, where the museum kept a number of propaganda panels in procession to commemorate the event.
