Following a spectacular performance at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) last night, international rock icon Bryan Adams and his family visited the Giza Pyramids plateau today. The visit highlights Egypt’s enduring appeal as a premier destination for global cultural tourism.
The Canadian singer-songwriter was received by Dr. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion. Dr. Youssef welcomed the artist, highlighting Egypt’s unique and diverse tourism offerings that remain unparalleled worldwide.

Ashraf Mohi El-Din, Director General of the Giza Plateau, escorted Adams and his family on an educational tour of the archaeological site. The visit included:
The Great Pyramid: The family ventured inside the monument, where Adams expressed his awe at the sheer scale and the architectural precision that defines ancient Egyptian genius.
The Tomb of Seshemnefer: Dating back to the Old Kingdom, the tomb’s intricate wall carvings and depictions of daily life in Ancient Egypt left a profound impression on the artist.
The Great Sphinx: The tour concluded at the Sphinx, where Adams showed a keen interest in the history and craftsmanship behind its carving, asking detailed questions about its construction phases.
Preservation Efforts
During the tour, Mohi El-Din also briefed the artist on the groundwater level reduction project, a critical conservation initiative implemented to protect the structural integrity of the site for future generations.
