The Cairo International Book Fair has opened a special art exhibition titled “Naguib Mahfouz Through the Eyes of the World,” celebrating the legacy of Egypt’s Nobel laureate and one of the most influential figures in modern Arabic literature.
The exhibition features 41 caricatures by artists from around the globe, presenting diverse visual interpretations of Mahfouz in collaboration with the Egyptian Caricature Association. Using satire and symbolism, the artworks capture the writer’s intellectual depth and humanist vision, often drawing inspiration from his landmark novels.
Organizers say the exhibition underscores Mahfouz’s global stature and lasting cultural impact beyond the Arab world. Visitors have shown strong interest, viewing the show as a creative bridge between literature and visual arts during the fair’s 57th edition.
