The highly-anticipated sequel to Netflix’s 2019 movie “Knives Out“ will make its world premiere at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival, which will run from September 8 until September 18.
There is no date set for the premiere at this time.
“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” features Daniel Craig reprising his role as the clever private investigator Benoit Blanc.
The sequel also stars a completely new cast, which includes Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline, and Jessica Henwick.
The original movie, which had a budget of $40 million, grossed $311.5 million at the global box office.
"Knives Out" followed the story of the Thrombey family. Their extreme dysfunctionality comes to the surface following the death of their patriarch, mystery novelist Harlan Thrombey, under mysterious circumstances.
In March, Netflix bought the rights to two more "Knives Out" sequels for over $450 million.
While details surrounding the movie are still under wraps, it will follow Detective Blanc on a new case in Greece.
Filmmaker Rian Johnson, who returned to write and direct the sequel, is also producing alongside Ram Bergman under their T-Street production company.
"Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" is set to arrive in the holiday season.
