The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat hosted the grand closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the “Givers of Hope” campaign, a worldwide initiative aimed at inspiring hope and providing support to individuals facing significant challenges.

Organized under the auspices of several ministries, international organizations, and charitable foundations, including Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the event celebrated the campaign’s ongoing success in fostering global partnerships for humanitarian causes.

Dr. Tayyib Abbas, CEO of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, welcomed attendees with a heartfelt speech, expressing pride in the museum’s involvement in such a vital humanitarian effort. He praised the campaign for its dedication to providing hope to patients battling severe illnesses and commended its mission to challenge adversity.

Dr. Abbas also emphasized the museum’s commitment to inclusivity, particularly in supporting individuals with special needs by integrating them into cultural and archaeological awareness initiatives that align with Egypt’s broader societal goals.

During the ceremony, the campaign honored Dr. Abbas for the museum's contributions, presenting him with a commemorative shield in recognition of its support over the past editions.

The evening also featured powerful documentary screenings, including the inspiring journey of international tennis player and cancer survivor Anwar Elkamony, who founded the campaign, as well as highlights from previous campaign editions and Egypt’s national efforts in sports and disability inclusion.

Musical and artistic performances enthralled the audience, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere. Guests were also taken on an exclusive tour of the museum’s galleries, exploring Egypt’s storied civilization through its remarkable collection of artifacts.

The event was attended by a distinguished lineup of global figures, including prominent leaders, cultural icons, and influential personalities. Among the attendees were Christophe Giovannetti, President of the United Nations Foundation, her Excellency Peace Ambassador Guila Clara Kessous, UNESCO Artist for Peace, Prince Charles-Henri de Lobkowicz, a French nobleman and member of the Lobkowicz family, and Corinne Lepage, former French Minister of Environment and member of the European Parliament.

Joining them were Italian composer and singer Federico Martello, Gobato Stefano, Chairman of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, renowned adventurer Sean Swarner, and Dr. Yomna Amer, Head of Development for the “Givers of Hope” campaign. Together with organizations and influencers from around the world, their presence highlighted the global impact of the initiative.
