Egyptian actress Hannah El Zahed is no longer involved in the remake of the 1973 rom-com film "Albahth Ean Fediha" (Searching for a Scandal).
Gihan El Shamashergy will take over the role of El Zahed, who parted ways with the project due to being busy with filming a new TV series, which will air after the Ramadan 2026 drama marthoun.
The remake was set to reunite El Zahed with Hesham Maged after recently working together on the comedy hit film "Fasel Mn Al Lahzat El Laziza".
It hails from scriptwriter George Azmy and director Rami Emam, the son of iconic actor “El Zaeem” Adel Imam, who starred in the original movie.
"Albahth Ean Fediha" revolves around Magdy, a naive young man who goes to the city to look for a job.
He asks his friend, playboy Samy, to introduce him to women and fall in love with Hanan.
Along the way, Samy impresses Magdy with his tall tales of romantic relationships and gets him into many mishaps in his attempt to woo Hanan, and eventually wins her heart.
The film also starred Mervat Amin, Samir Sabri, Youssef Wahby, Ahmed Ramzy, Emad Hamdy, Mohamed Awad, Zizi El Badrawi, Mohamed Reda, Nawal Abou El Fotouh, Tawfiq El Deqen, George Sedhom, Mimi Shakib, and more.
