The Marina Theater witnessed the opening ceremony of the third edition of the El Gouna Film Festival (GFF), with the presence of celebrities from around the world.
A magnificent theater on the shore of the Red Sea was decorated to welcome artists, and a number of media and film critics.
The GFF launched three years ago and this year, the festival is expected to continue until September 27.
The festival will present several awards, including the Creative Achievement Award, which will be awarded to Palestinian director Mai Al Masri, during the opening ceremony, and another awards for artist Mohamed Henedy at the closing.
During the opening ceremony, Naguib Sawiris expressed his sincere pleasure at the launch of the festival, stressing that the GFF brought back the glamor to film festivals.
"El Gouna resort is currently being prepared and will be available throughout the year to host cultural and musical events," he added.
El-Gouna founder Samih Sawiris said there has been significant progress in the festival, adding that there is no need to introduce the GFF as it has become a global trend.
The opening ceremony was attended by a big number of stars including Mona Zaki, Yousra, Boshra, Dora, Hind Sabri, Ghada Adel, Akram Hosni, Mohamed Ramadan, Elham Shahen, Ahmed El-Feshawy and others.
