Last week, his Excellency Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected the Postal Museum developing project updates to upgrade its exhibition scenario. The upgrade includes restoring the historical building, increasing the number of exhibit halls to 15 instead of one, and restoring the exhibits.

Therefore, this story is about the history of the Postal Museum.

Established by King Ahmed Fuad I, the museum targets documenting the history of the postal services in Egypt; it was one of the earliest countries he used doves in transporting and receiving letters since the time of ancient Egyptians. It was established on the occasion of hosting the 10th Postal Union Congress meeting in 1934.

Moreover, Egypt was one of the earliest countries that joined the Universal Postal Union, so it was awarded various medals, prizes, and honors due to its outstanding postal performance.

The museum exhibits models of early sent letters by doves in ancient Egypt, furthermore, displaying various ancient letters and contracts recorded on papyrus.

Next, there is a hall specialized for displaying the progression and transformation in the shapes and the forms of stamps. It shows the special honorary stamps issued for celebrating certain occasions and national figures.

There is also a hall depicting the traditional uniform of post officers alongside their tools and the various means of transforming letters including tracing the changes occurred on the shapes of the post boxes. Furthermore, it shows rare old and royal letters and extraordinary national documents.

Finally, the museum has a special hall for the stamp collectors association.
