The Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) continues its cultural activities after opening its doors to the public on Thursday, January 28. Here is today's, Wednesday, program.

At 12 pm: New Criticism
The guests will be Khaled Al Jaber (Kuwait), Khalifa Ahwas (Libya), Khalil Al Nahwy (Mauritania), Al Adel Khedr, and Will Auckerdian (Ghana). The discussion will be moderated by Alaa Abdel Hady.
At 4 pm: We and Artificial Intelligence
The guests will be Ayman Mashhour, Khaled Negm, and Mohamed Ismail Roushdi. The session will be moderated by Mohamed Azzam.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and the Minister of Culture Dr. Neven El Killany inaugurated the 54th Cairo International Book Fair.
The 54th edition takes place under the theme of "Egypt's Name- Together: Read, Think, Create."
Iconic late poet Salah Jahin is the figure of the CIBF, and author Kamil Kilany is the children's fair figure. Moreover, Jordan is the 54th edition guest of honor.
1047 publishers are participating in the event from 53 countries.
This edition will also present 500 various activities in seven halls at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center in New Cairo.
The working hours for Thursdays and Fridays will be between 10 am and 9 pm.
A number of buses are dedicated to being in the service of the CIBF visitors, in addition, the buses will depart from different squares and areas in Cairo.
The activities of the CIBF 54 will kick off between January 25 and February 6 at Egypt International Exhibition Center.
On the first day, the CIBF 54 witnessed a huge turnout on the event's first day for the public.
Dr. Neven El Killany, the Minister of Culture, announced that the first day of the CIBF, Thursday, saw 131,250 visitors.
El Kilany added that this massive turnout reflected the reading passion of Egyptians, and their appreciation of books, writers, and publishers. She also described the book fair as a celebration of culture.
On his side, Dr. Ahmed Bahei Al-Din, the director of the Egyptian Book Authority, explained that the data was identified by the number of sold tickets, and the number of online bookings on the event's website.
