Canadian music icon Celine Dion canceled her entire world tour months after she was diagnosed with an incurable neurological condition, Stiff Person Syndrome.
In a statement on Instagram at the time, the 55-year-old said: "I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100 per cent.
"I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again."
She added that the rare condition has been causing muscle spasms which affect her ability to perform and sing, leaving her with no other choice.
As the singer hasn't been photographed in over 600 days, an insider has opened up about the troubles the "My Heart Will Go On" singer will be having in her day-to-day life.
The source confirmed she is susceptible to falling and suffering from "unbearable" spasms.
Speaking to The National Enquirer, the source said: "Celine hasn't been photographed in public in almost 600 days — and with good reason.
She has trouble walking and is at the mercy of loud noises that trigger spasms, which make her susceptible to failing. Her back has become hunched and her muscle spasms are, at times, unbearable."
Due to Celine's worsening health, she recently moved her sister Linda into the home she shares with her three sons René-Charles, Eddy, and Nelson.
Their other sister Claudette shared an update on Celine's health during a television appearance with Le Journal de Montreal last month.
She said: "When I call her and she's busy, I speak to my sister Linda who lives with her and tells me that she's working hard. She's listening to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible.
"I honestly think that she mostly needs to rest. She always goes above and beyond, she always tries to be the best and top of her game.
"At one point, your heart and your body are trying to tell you something. It's important to listen to it."
Claudette went on to say that The Power of Love hitmaker is working incredibly hard to maintain her health to get back to performing in the future.
She continued: "We trust her. It's innate to her, she's disciplined in every area of her life… We can't find any medicine that works, but having hope is important."
Celine first showed signs of ill health in October 2021 when she announced the delay of her Las Vegas shows.
In January 2022, she then cancelled the North American leg of her Courage world tour for the same reason, saying: "I was really hoping that I'd be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing."
