On Tuesday, Germany decided to extend the travel ban on arrivals from the UK, starting from today midnight till January 6, due to fears about a new strain of the coronavirus.
The decision will also be applied on arrivals from South Africa and Northern Ireland.
In a statement, the German Health ministry said that "The transport ban covers passenger traffic by train, bus, ship, and flights directly from these countries."
There are exceptions for freight and mail transport, and for medical and humanitarian flights.
It is worth mentioning that, several European countries suspended air travel to and from the UK because of a new and seemingly more contagious strain of the coronavirus in England.
