Germany: Building Israeli settlements is illegal and the situation in Gaza is catastrophic

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said that the situation in Gaza is catastrophic, and Israel's killing of men, women and children is a disaster.

Birbock said, during a press conference with the Palestinian Foreign Minister, that it was Israel that forced and directed thousands of Palestinians to Rafah, and everything that happened was based on its instructions, so Israel had to guarantee their security and preserve their lives.

She stressed: Israel had to provide safe passage for civilians before launching a ground attack on Rafah, but that does not include forced displacement.

The German Foreign Minister added: There must be a truce in Gaza and protection must be provided to civilians, noting that the construction of Israeli settlements is illegal.
