Lionsgate has pushed up the release date for Gerard Butler's action movie "Plane" got moved up by two weeks.
The movie previously scheduled for January 27, 2023, will now open wide on the 13th.
"Plane" follows an airplane pilot who is forced to emergency land due to a storm and discovers that he escaped from a natural danger to a human one.
He and the passengers are caught in the middle of a war-torn Philipino nation, with gunmen ready to take them hostage.
As officials set a plan to get them to safety, the pilot teams up with a fugitive passenger to rescue the passengers from the militia.
"Plane" also stars Tony Goldwyn, Mike Colter, Daniella Pineda, Yoson An, Remi Adeleke, Haleigh Hekking, Lilly Krug, Joey Slotnick, Oliver Trevena, and others.
Filmmaker Jean François Richet directed the movie from a screenplay by J.P. Davis and Charles Cumming, the latter makes his feature film writing debut by adapting his best-selling novel.
The movie was first announced in 2019 but took a little time to take off, with the COVID-19 pandemic certainly playing a part in it.
