Iconic Syrian singer George Wassouf shared Tuesday an update about his health after he underwent a surgical procedure to remove the adenoids.

Adenoid surgery, often known as adenoidectomy, is a common operation performed by an ear, nose, and throat specialist to remove the adenoid tissue.

In most cases, the procedure takes less than an hour and the patient can go home on the same day.

"To stop fake news from spreading, I was admitted to Saint George Hospital in Beirut last week where I underwent an adenoidectomy on the vocal cords by Dr. Jihad Khoury, " Wassouf wrote on Twitter.

The acclaimed singer reassured fans that were in good health and that the operation had succeeded.

"See you in Jordan on August 8," he concluded.
