Iconic Syrian singer George Wassouf is remembering his late son, Wadih, through music.

On Tuesday, the acclaimed singer, 61, released a new song titled “Noss Omry” to honor Wadih, his eldest son who unexpectedly passed away last year.

Wadih entered a hospital in Lebanon on December 27, 2022, to undergo gastric bypass surgery and suffered from some complications, which required transferring blood units. He passed away after staying in the hospital for days.

“Noss Omry”  comes forty days after Wadih's death.

It is the lyrics of Khaled Tag Eldeen, composed by Mohamed Yehia, and directed by Tony El Kahwaji.

Wassouf 's career spans more than four decades and he's released over 30 albums, becoming one of the most successful Arab singers selling over 60 million records worldwide. He is known for hits such as Sehert El Leil and El Hawa Sultan.

Wadih is the son of Wassouf and his first wife Shalimar, who he married aged 21 and also had sons Hatem and George Jr.

The couple separated in 2009 and then George married Qatar-Palestinian rally champion Nada Zeidan, who gave birth to a daughter in 2015 before they divorced in 2016.
