Renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass revealed that the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) will house his latest archaeological discoveries in Saqqara Necropolis.
"Once GEM is opened, the visitors will see the large cemetery of a pharaoh named Fetek and nine beautiful statues: one represents a man and his wife; several are servant statues; and others represent individuals," Hawass stated at a press conference on Jan. 26.
"Fetek’s tomb included a collection of “the largest statues” ever found in the area," he added.
The Grand Egyptian Museum at the foot of the pyramids in Giza is designed to showcase the world’s largest integrated collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities, which includes thousands of unique artifacts dating back thousands of years, to provide an enjoyable experience for visitors.
"The museum features 20 shops, 8 restaurants, and a children's museum, besides the conference center," GEM's officials told SEE.
