As part of the final preparations for its official opening on November 1, 2025, the Grand Egyptian Museum will be temporarily closed from October 15 to November 4, 2025.
Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, stated that during this period, the museum will carry out a range of organizational and logistical arrangements in readiness for the grand opening ceremony. He added that the museum will resume receiving visitors on November 4 during regular opening hours, a date that coincides with the 103rd anniversary of the discovery of the tomb of the Golden King, Tutankhamun, offering visitors a complete and enhanced cultural experience.
It is worth noting that the museum has been operating on a trial basis in certain sections since October 16 last year. Starting from February this year, the museum has adopted new official opening hours, welcoming visitors year-round—both in summer and winter—from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Additionally, evening visits are available every Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
