GCC Secretary General, Italian FM Discuss Enhancing Bilateral Relations, Regional Developments

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic, Antonio Tajani, met with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome.

During the meeting, they discussed relations between the GCC and the Italian Republic, as well as ways to strengthen and develop them across various fields to serve the common interests of both sides. This aligns with the ongoing growth in Gulf-Italian relations and a shared desire to elevate them to broader horizons.

According to a statement issued by the GCC General Secretariat, the two sides also discussed several proposals and initiatives aimed at boosting economic relations and growing trade and investment exchange.

These efforts seek to achieve their shared aspirations and reinforce the existing partnership. Al-Budaiwi emphasized the GCC's keenness to strengthen ties with Italy, given its status as an important partner for the Council's member states, and expressed his aspiration to continue building upon the progress achieved in the past period.

Furthermore, the two officials exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, foremost among them the ongoing situation in the region. They stressed the importance of enhancing dialogue and coordination, as well as supporting efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability.

Al-Budaiwi expressed his appreciation for Italy's supportive stance toward the GCC countries and its condemnation of the Iranian attacks that targeted GCC states during recent events, praising how this stance reflects Italy's commitment to consolidating the partnership between the two sides.
