The Palestinian “Gaza Mon Amour” screening witnessed the presence of a huge number of celebrities yesterday at Cairo International Film Festival’s (CIFF).

Directed by Tarzan Nasser and Arab Nasser, it was selected by Palestine to represent it at OSCARS Best Foreign Film Award competitions.

Furthermore, the film is participating at the CIFF official International Competition alongside 15 films.

The film revolves around Issa who is stoic and settled into bachelor living. In addition, he continues ignoring his sister’s requests to him to find a lover. However, he hides his feelings of love for Siham.

One night while out fishing within the limited radius Gazans are restricted to sailing under the Israeli occupation. Issa finds a strange statue of Apollo.

Issa takes the statue home. Ironically, part of the statue is broken off leading to a series of comic events that shed light on life under the occupation and, above all, on love.

Tonight’s screening is the film’s first one in the Middle East and North Africa. It participated in different international festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival.
