The Israeli army bombed Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip, in response to the launching of incendiary balloons from the Palestinian Strip towards the south of the zionist state, in a new night of escalation between the two parties.

In a brief statement, the Israeli army said that its tanks "targeted Hamas military sites" in the Gaza Strip.

In addition to its bombardment of the Gaza Strip, Israel responded to the launching of incendiary balloons from it with a series of punitive measures, including reducing the permitted fishing area in the Gaza waters, closing the Kerem crossing, designated for the passage of goods into the Strip, and stopping the supply of fuel, which caused the electrical power plant in the Strip to stop.Gaza: 2nd Night of Israeli Bombing

The population of the Gaza Strip is two million people, more than half of whom live in poverty, according to the World Bank.

Moreover, a Palestinian local official said that a 16-year-old boy was shot dead by the Israeli army in the village of Deir Abu Mashaal, northwest of Ramallah.

Emad Zahran, head of the village's local council, added, "It officially informs us of the martyrdom of the boy, Mohamed Matar (16), who was shot by the occupation forces while he was on the outskirts of the village with two others who were wounded."

Zahran explained that the army arrested Matar after he was injured, while Palestinian ambulance crews were able to transport the other wounded and they are in stable condition.Gaza: 2nd Night of Israeli Bombing

The Ministry of Health said in a statement late last night that one of them was injured in the foot and the second in the abdomen, and they are in stable condition.

"Our forces thwarted a sabotage attempt a while ago when they detected a terrorist cell near the village of Deir Abu Mashaal, in possession of materials to ignite Molotov cocktails in addition to rubber tires," Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraei claimed in his tweet after the incident.
