As part of the celebration of Coptic Heritage Day in its 8th anniversary, which is marked annually in March, the Gayer-Anderson Museum is organizing a temporary exhibition entitled: "The Aesthetics of Coptic Art."
Dr. Moamen Othman, Head of the Museums Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said the exhibition will run until Friday, March 17.
He added that the tickets are sold to exhibitions at the same price as the tickets offered to museum visitors.
The exhibition will feature a unique and diverse collection of masterpieces of Coptic art.
Professor Mervat Izzat, the general manager of the museum, revealed that the most important pieces on display include a collection of Coptic fabric from the ninth century AD, a collection of icons, a ring of local metal, gold-plated brass jewellery box, copper stamped, and a wood frieze.
