Veteran Egyptian director and actor Galal El-Sharkawy passed away on Friday at the age of 88 after contracting the Coronavirus. Coronavirus.
The late actor contracted the coronavirus on January 24 and had suffered from breathing problems caused by his infection in the last period, which led to his hospitalization.
El-Sharkawy's funeral will take place after Friday prayers from Mustafa Mahmoud Mosque in Mohandessin.
The acclaimed director, was born on June 14, 1934. He began his artistic career by directing his first play "A Widow with Three Daughters" in 1965, which was followed up by major theatrical works such as "Atiya the Terrorist" and "The Story of the Western Neighborhood".
He also starred in several films including "Khaley Balak Men Aqlaq" (Take Care of Your Mind) starring Adel Imam and Sherihan.
