The “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot will play the Evil Queen in Disney's upcoming movie adaptation of "Snow White".
Disney always desired Gadot to play the role, and a deal was finalized this week after scheduling was worked out.
The movie is expected to start production in 2022.
Gadot will join the "West Side Story" actress Rachel Zegler, who has been cast as Snow White.
The new adaptation will feature an expanded story with different music than the original 1937 movie.
"The Greatest Showman" songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul had penned the new music.
Disney's next live-action remake with a release date is "The Little Mermaid", which is set to theaters on May 26, 2023.
The studio has also wrapped filming on a live-action remake of "Pinocchio" and a "Peter Pan & Wendy" movie. The two movies are set to debut on Disney+.
Disney is also developing a follow-up to their remake of "The Lion King" which will be focusing on Mufasa.

Gadot is currently filming the thriller movie "Heart of Stone" and also developing a Cleopatra movie.
The actress is also set to reprise her role as Wonder Woman in a third movie.
She is also set to reteam with Wonder Woman producers Charles Roven and Richard Suckle for a sci-fi romance movie “Meet Me in Another Life”.
It is based on the debut novel of the same name from Catriona Silvey. The novel was published in the U.S. on April 27 by William Morrow, a pision of HarperCollins.
The movie follows Thora and Santi, kindred spirits that keep meeting in different versions of reality. They eventually come to a shocking revelation and must discover the truth of their mysterious attachment before their lives come to a final end.
Gadot and Jaron Varsano will produce for Pilot Wave, with Roven and Suckle producing for Atlas Entertainment, and Curt Kanemoto overseeing the project for Atlas.
The actress can be seen alongside Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds in the Netflix thriller “Red Notice” and be seen next in “Death on the Nile”, which opens in theaters in February 2022.
