According to France24, the nation's Covid-19 death toll now stands at 46,273. France recorded 1,217 Covid-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours – a figure that includes hospital deaths, of which there were 437, and deaths in care homes, which are counted twice a week. Infections rose by 45,422 in the last 24 hours.

Earlier, the French Prime Minister Jean Castex has confirmed that one in every four deaths recorded in France in the current period is caused by the Coronavirus and the health problems associated with it.

Castex warned that the authorities may be forced to take additional measures in the event of a deterioration of the epidemiological situation, but he also did not rule out easing restrictions from December 1 in the event that things were moving for the better.

He stressed that the police presence will be strengthened on the streets in Paris to ensure compliance with measures to limit the spread of Corona.
