The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates considered the decision of a number of countries to suspend their funding to UNRWA a collective punishment for millions of Palestinians, especially in light of the humanitarian catastrophe that our people are suffering from in the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to continuous aggression since the seventh of last October.

The Foreign Ministry said in a press statement today, Sunday, that these decisions are politicized and disproportionate, especially in light of the United Nations Secretary-General’s announcement of an investigation into the Israeli allegations and taking the necessary measures imposed by law regarding them.

She added that the decision of these countries is a double standard, as these countries continue to provide support and aid to Israel, and they are aware that their army is committing the worst forms of massacres and killing against tens of thousands of civilians outside the law, and is also imposing forced displacement on more than two million citizens.

The Foreign Ministry renewed its call on the countries that suspended their funding to UNRWA to reconsider their decision and withdraw from it, in a bias towards humanity and consistent with its declared positions on the necessity of protecting civilians and securing their basic humanitarian needs.
