Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met on Tuesday with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, on the sidelines of the General Assembly in New York, where he praised the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross mission in Cairo, and its ongoing cooperation with the Egyptian authorities to raise awareness of international humanitarian law in cooperation with the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, and noted the distinguished partnership with the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in the field of implementing humanitarian activities.
Minister Dr. Abdel Aati praised the efforts made by the International Committee of the Red Cross as an independent and neutral organization that ensures the protection and assistance of victims of conflicts and violence, and reviewed the efforts made by Egypt to stop the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, and the importance of reaching a ceasefire agreement, allowing aid to enter without obstacles, and preventing the region from slipping into a regional war.
He praised the role played by the International Committee of the Red Cross in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people.
