The Drummer of the legendary US rock group Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, passed away at the age of 50, the band announced on Saturday.
The band said on Twitter: “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins."
“His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.”
“Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginable difficult time,” the statement added.
The band's fellows, Nickelback, commented on the news: “In utter disbelief at the news of Taylor Hawkins,” wrote rock band Nickelback. “Our deepest condolences to his family, his bandmates, his team, his friends and everyone that was ever touched by the music he created with @foofighters @Alanis and so many others. This is so incredibly sad.”
In the same context, iconic musician Mike Portnoy: “In absolute shock & disbelief over the passing of Taylor Hawkins. I’ve always had so much admiration for him."
He added: “Amazing drummer & a gem of a guy who was always fun to be around. I’m absolutely gutted…my deepest condolences to his bandmates & family.”
The cause of Hawkins death has not been revealed yet.
