Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry held talks, earlier Monday, with U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry in Cairo.
Shoukry is the President-designate of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
On Sunday, Kerry arrived in Cairo for a two-day visit.
Earlier, Shoukry stressed that climate change represents a global crisis with unprecedented repercussions, underlining the importance of multilateral environmental diplomacy to confront climate change.
This came during FM's participation, on Saturday, in a session on environmental diplomacy and climate change, as part of the activities of the Munich Security Conference.
Moreover, Egypt's top diplomat underlined the need for political balances should not reflect on the climate change negotiations.
