English actress Florence Pugh is in early talks to join the cast of the highly anticipated sequel to "Dune".
Pugh is set to play Princess Irulan Corrino, the eldest daughter of Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV, the character did not appear in the latest adaptation, but was mentioned by name, and was portrayed by José Ferrer in the 1984 David Lynch movie.
She would join the star-studded returning cast of Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, and Josh Brolin.
Production on the movie is expected to start in the fall and is set to bow on October 20, 2023.
Director, producer, and co-screenwriter Denis Villeneuve is also returning for the sequel.
The movie reunites Pugh with Chalamet, who she co-starred with in the 2019 remake of Little Women.

"Dune" is adapted from Frank Herbert’s seminal science fiction bestseller of the same name, and centers around Paul Atreides (Chalamet), a scion of the noble House of Atreides that is tasked with overseeing the barren desert planet Arrakis, known as Dune.
The first part of the sci-fi epic opened on October 22, 2021, in the U.S., earning $41 million in ticket sales in its first weekend.
The movie featured a star-studded cast that also included Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Sharon Duncan Brewster, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.
