Sources affiliated with the Antiquities Ministry announced, Saturday, the discovery of five large archeological tombs located at a privately owned plot in Matariya district.
The sources added that the newly-discovered tombs are in good condition, noting that they are likely to house great artifacts inside.
They pointed out that the tombs date back to the Late Period.
The sources pointed out that the roof of one of the discovered tombs is at a depth of 7 meters, noting that the ministry is set to conduct renovations in the area to fully inspect the tombs; it is expected to be large and very important.
