First-Look Photos of "The Crow" Reboot

The first look at the new version of 1994's classic supernatural thriller movie "The Crow", which has been in development since 2008, has been unveiled.

The reboot stars Bill Skarsgård, FKA Twigs, Danny Huston, Isabella Wei, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila, Jordan Bolger, and more.

Rupert Sanders directed the pic from a script by Oscar nominee Zach Baylin (King Richard) and Will Schneider.

CAA Media Finance handled the deal for the movie’s domestic rights. John Biondo oversaw on behalf of Lionsgate, with the pact finalized late Wednesday night as the TIFF festival and market get underway. The movie is expected to be released next year.

"The Crow" is produced by Victor Hadida (Resident Evil), Molly Hassell (Terminal), John Jencks (Honest Thief), the late Samuel Hadida (True Romance), and the late Edward R. Pressman (The Crow).

Production companies are Davis Films, Hassell Free Productions, Electric Shadow Company, and Pressman Film, which is now led by Sam Pressman.

The $50M-budgeted movie was shot on location in Prague and Munich. International sales are handled by FilmNation, which already has closed a raft of deals.

"The Crow" began life in 1989 as a superhero comic book series created by James O'Barr. It is centered around Eric, a man who is killed along with his fiancée by a gang of criminals after the couple's car breaks down.

A year later, he was resurrected by a spectral crow, allowing him to set out on a path of revenge against those who did them wrong. The comic received its first adaptation in 1994.

The movie gained a level of infamy due to the on-set death of star Brandon Lee. The movie spawned three more movies, "The Crow: City of Angels" (1996), "The Crow: Salvation" (2000), and "The Crow: Wicked Prayer" (2005) as well as TV series called "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven" (1998). 

The new version of "The Crow" hits theatres on June 7.
