A tragic incident disrupted a concert by superstar Mohamed Ramadan at Porto Golf in the North Coast after a fireworks malfunction killed one worker and injured six others, authorities confirmed late Friday.

Yasser El-Hariri, the event organizer, said in press remarks that the accident occurred when an air tube linked to the fireworks system exploded. The deceased was an employee of the pyrotechnics company contracted for the show.

“We had all the required permits for the concert,” El-Hariri said, noting that the mishap was caused by a sudden technical failure.

One of the injured suffered a severe brain hemorrhage and facial lacerations and is currently in intensive care, while the others sustained moderate injuries. Emergency responders quickly transferred all victims to nearby hospitals.

The concert, which drew hundreds of fans, was abruptly halted as the incident unfolded. Mohamed Ramadan appeared visibly shaken on stage and announced the immediate cancellation of the show, telling the crowd: “I’m sorry… I have to end the concert because there are serious injuries. I can’t continue.”

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fireworks failure and the safety measures in place for the high-profile event.

The tragedy sparked shock and grief among attendees, with videos of the moment quickly circulating on social media. Calls for stricter safety oversight on large-scale concerts have resurfaced in the aftermath of the fatal accident.
