Firas Al-Taybeh's Short Film "The Woodland" to Screen at 24th Rotterdam Arab Film Festival

Jordanian actor and director Firas Al-Taybeh's The Woodland" will screen at the 24th edition of the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival (RAFF), slated to run from May 30 to June 2 in the Netherlands.

The short is set to screen at the festival’s Arab Shorts I Program on Saturday, June 1 at 12 pm.

Al-Taybeh is scheduled to attend the event and take part seminar about the pic.

The official synopsis reads: "Two estranged brothers find themselves in the untamed wilderness as they embark on a journey to bury their father. Reunited in the wake of tragedy after years of tense separation, the two brothers find themselves at a crossroads where they need to confront their shared past before making a pivotal decision."

MAD Solutions’ sales arm MAD Distribution is handling the movie’s sales in the Arab-speaking region.

The RAFF developed from the port city of Rotterdam into an International festival that takes place annually in Rotterdam. 

It is an artistic platform dedicated to Middle Eastern and North African films and related activities to create a safe space for open conversations about art, human, emancipation, and political freedom.

Al-Taybeh pursued his passion for the arts at Jordan University, before honing his skills in filmmaking at the prestigious Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts.

With over five years of experience teaching at SAE College Jordan, he has written and directed a number of acclaimed fiction and documentary short films, including "Al Wadi" and "An Invisible Face".

As an actor, his diverse filmography spans features, drama series, and shorts such as "Farha", "When I Saw You", and "Kabreet 45".
