Disney has unveiled the final trailer for "Zootopia 2," the long-anticipated sequel to the studio’s Best Animated Feature Oscar winner from 2016, which features an all-new single by Shakira and Ed Sheeran.
The track, titled “Zoo,” will aim to recapture the magic of the original film’s “Try Everything," which has been streamed 2.7 billion times worldwide to date.
Music and lyrics were written by Sheeran, Blake Slatkin and Shakira, who produced alongside Alex “A.C.” Castillo. The single releases on October 10.
In addition to contributing the song, Shakira reprises her Zootopia role of pop star Gazelle in the sequel, with Sheeran and Slatkin making cameos as a pair of sheep aptly named Ed Shearin and Baalake Lambkin.
Releasing November 26, "Zootopia 2" reunites Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), the rookie cops from the Zootopia P.D., as they find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery when Gary De’Snake (Ke Huy Quan) arrives in Zootopia and turns the animal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, they must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.
The film also features the voices of Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Macaulay Culkin, Brenda Song, Fortune Feimster, Quinta Brunson, and many more.
Directed by the Oscar-winning team of Disney Animation chief creative officer Jared Bush and Byron Howard and produced by Yvett Merino.
