It has been 14 years since the last stop. The official trailer for "Final Destination: Bloodlines" has pulled into the station on Tuesday, reigniting the flames of the long-running franchise which last graced the screens back in 2011.
Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein directed the sixth entry in the New Line franchise that was last seen on the big screen with "Final Destination 5", which premiered back in August 2011.
"Final Destination Bloodlines" centers on Stefanie (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) aiming to track down the sole person who can potentially stop the cycle that has inevitably led her family members to untimely deaths.
Rounding out the cast are Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and the late Tony Todd.
Lipovsky and Stein helmed the movie from a script by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, with Jon Watts credited for his work on the story. Producers include Watts, Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich.
Director James Wong’s original 2000 movie "Final Destination" kicked off the franchise, with that movie’s story focusing on a teen (Devon Sawa) who helps his classmates escape death after he receives a premonition of their plane crashing, only for the friends to soon experience grisly demises.
With a cast including Ali Larter and Kerr Smith, the first Final Destination collected $112 million at the global box office ($205 million today).
"Final Destination Bloodlines" is set to hit theaters and IMAX on May 16.
