Egyptian stars Asser Yassin and Amina Khalil's film "Shamarekh" will make its streaming debut on Netflix on the second day of the Eid al-Adha holidays.
The ensemble cast includes Khaled El Sawy, Mohamed Tharwat, Sally Hammad, Adam Al-Sharqawi, Mustafa Darwish, and more.
The film is scripted and directed by Amr Salama.
"Shamarekh" marks the second collaboration between Yassin and Salama after the 2008 film “Zay El Naharda” as well as the second collaboration between the actor and Khalil after the 2020 film “Saheb Al Maqam”.
Yassin, born February 25, 1981, began his career on the stage of the American University in Cairo.
He was spotted by Director Khairy Beshara to play his first role in the 2006 TV series "Qalb Habiba", followed by the blockbuster "The Yacoubian Building" in 2007.
Yassin starred in his first major film in 2008's "Zay El Naharda" (2008).
In the same year, he got his big break playing a leading role in the film "El Waad" (The Promise), starring opposite legendary actor and superstar Mahmoud Yassin.
In 2010, Yassin played the leading role in Daoud Abdel Sayed's film "Messages from the Sea", which earned him the Best Actor award at the Carthage Film Festival and Malmö Arab Film Festival.
