Film "Matrah Matruh" First Look Revealed

The first look at veteran Egyptian actor Mahmoud Hemida's latest film "Matrah Matruh" has been revealed.

The cast also includes Samy Maghawry, Shaima Seif, Karim Afifi, Laila Ahmed Zaher, and others.

English actor and martial artist Scott Adkins will also star in the project.

Set in 1940, it follows the life of an Egyptian employee and his family after the outbreak of war. They are soon involved in a conflict with the foreign soldiers' forces.

It also stars, Karim Afifi, Laila Ahmed Zaher, Shaima Seif, and others.

The film is written by Mohamed Ezz, directed by Wael Ihsan, and produced by Mohamed El Sobky.

This will be the second time Adkins stars in an Egyptian film after he appeared for the first time in the 2018 film "Harb Karmouz" (Karmouz War) starring Hemida and Amir Karara. He played an English man who was imprisoned and was used in the war against the Egyptian officer and his colleagues.

Hemida, born on December 7, 1953, earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce. He kicked off his acting career with performances on television.

The acclaimed actor participated in several TV series including “Harat Al Shurafa”, and “Al Wassiyah”, his performance in the latter drew a lot of praise and acclaim for his talents and marked the beginning of his rise as a star.

The start of Hemida’s career in the cinema began with performing a leading role alongside veteran actor Ahmed Zaki in the 1990 film “Al Embrator”.

He has also founded a production company that has released several films including “Janat Al Shayytan” as well as founded an entertainment magazine titled “Al Fann Al Sabeaa”.

Hemida has proved his uniqueness in his ability to perform the characters he is assigned with efficiency and is notable for his roles in “Faris Al Madinah”, and “Aafarit Al Asfalt”.
