The first look and release date for Egyptian actress Riham Abdel Ghafour's film "kharita Ras El Sana" ("New Year's Map") have been revealed.
Abdel Ghafour will take on a lead role opposite Mohamed Mamdouh, in their third time reunion.
They previously worked together in the 2023 TV series "Rashid" and the 2017 TV series "La Totfe' Al Shams".
Ramy ElGindy directed from a screenplay by Youssef Wagdy. Scoop Art Production is the studio behind the project.
"kharita Ras El Sana" marks Abdel Ghafour's her first leading film role and follows a woman with Down syndrome (Abdel Ghafour) who embarks on a journey full of challenges and moving situations alongside her nephew, in an attempt to find his mother who vanished after his father's sudden death.
Rounding out the cast are Asma Abulyazeid, Hanady Mehanna, and child star Asser.
"kharita Ras El Sana" will hit cinemas across Egypt on Wednesday, December 24.
Abdel Ghafour, born on September 6, 1978, is the daughter of the late veteran Egyptian actor Ashraf Abdel Ghafour.
Throughout her journey, Riham has delivered some of the most remarkable performances in television and cinema, contributed to theater and short film projects, and left a lasting impact on the Egyptian and Arab artistic scene.
