Egyptian actor and screenwriter Chico's latest film “Ibn al-Hajj Ahmed” is slated to debut on the "Shahid" streaming platform next month.
The film also stars Sabrien, Aida Riyad, Sayed Ragab, Rahma Ahmed, Moustafa Gharieb, and others.
Moataz El Tony directs the film from a screenplay by Mohamed Al-Mohammadi and Ahmed Mohy. It is based on an idea by Amr Salama.
“Ibn al-Hajj Ahmed” premiered during Eid Al-Fitr movie marathon and marked Chico's first lead role in a film and comeback to the big screen after four years of absence.
He made his last appearance in the 2018 film "Qalb Ommoh" (His Mother's Heart).
Chico, born on July 4, 1980, is considered one of the most talented actors in Egypt.
During university, he created the Tamr Hendi production company with his friends and fellow actors Hesham Maged and Ahmed Fahmy, which produced films that ridiculed famous Egyptian films.
They created the film “Men who do not Know the impossible”, a project that attracted the attention of Mohamed Hefzy, who at the time was trying his hand at production.
Hefzy produced their first TV series “Afeesh wa Tashbeeh” that tackled Egyptian classics in a cynical way in each episode.
He also produced the trio's 2008 film "Waraqat Shifra" which was a big hit at the box office.
Other film credits include "Hamlet Freezer" (2016), "El Harb El A'lameya El Talta" (2014), "Banat ElA'm" (2012), and "Samir, Shahir and Bahir" (2010).
Chico is also best known for his roles in TV productions such as "The Game" (2020), and "Khalsana B Sheyaka" (2017).
