Former Egyptian belly dancer and actress Fifi Abdou has recently joined the cast of season 2 of the star-studded TV series "El Atawla".
Season one of the series debuted in Ramadan 2024 and achieved great success at the time.
It was renewed for season two shortly after the air of season one finale in April.
Season of "El Atawla" featured a starry cast that included Ahmed El Sakka, Tarek Lotfy, Zeina, Bassem Samra, Mai Kassab, Salah Abdallah, Hanan Soliman, Hoda Eletreby, and more.
"El Atawla" marked the first collaboration between El Sakka and Lotfy in 20 years. They previously collaborated on films "Ean Aleashq Walhuaa" (2006), and "Saeidi Fil Gameaa Al Amerikeya" (1998).
It also marked the first collaboration between El Sakka and Zeina in 13 years. They previously collaborated on the 2007 smash hit film "El Gezira"(The Island).
The series consists of 30 episodes and hails from scriptwriter Hisham Hilal and director Ahmed Khaled Mousa.
Season 2 or "El Atawla" is set to screen during the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon.
Born on April 26, 1953, Atiyat Abdul Fattah Ibrahim, known as Fifi Abdou, joined a folklore troupe at the age of 12 and later worked as a model.
Abdou began to gain attention in the early 1970s when she became the main attraction at the “Arizona”.
She has co-starred in several movies, TV series, and plays. Abdou is known for her roles in play “Hazimny Ya”, TV series “Al-Hakika w Al-Sarab”, TV series “Al-Hakika w Al-Sarab”, and others.
Abdou got married five times and has two daughters and one adopted daughter.
She is one of the most active celebrities in the Arab world on social media, which features belly dancing videos.
