Mostafa El Feki, the director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) said that the Egyptian singer Farrah El-Dibany will perform at the library on May 17.
El-Dibany performed at the ceremony of French President Emmanuel Macron after winning the presidential elections in front of the public and in the presence of the elected president.
El-Dibany was born in 1989 in Alexandria to a family of music lovers. She joined the Art Center of Bibliotheca Alexandrina in 2005 and won the 1st prize in the singing competition of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Culture in 2007, and the 2nd prize in the Jugend Musiziert competition in 2008.
In 2021, El-Dibany was invited to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of UNESCO by singing “Wehyat Alby” by Abdel Halim Hafez. She joined the Paris Opera in 2016.
She is the first Arab to win the award for the best young opera singer, from the Paris Opera in 2019. The World of Opera magazine in Germany chose her as the best young operatic talent and won the Wagner Foundation award on the stage of the opera comedy in Berlin.
The Egyptian singer was honored by President Sisi during the youth conference in Sharm El-Sheikh for her successful artistic career.
