Farouk Hosny Foundation Receives Brooklyn Museum Director, Board of Trustees Members

On Wednesday, Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts received a senior delegation from the Brooklyn Museum based in New York, US.

The delegation was headed by the director of the museum Anne Pasternak, and members of the Museum's Board of Trustees. In addition, a number of the museum's art advisors and experts attended the event. 

The Chairman of the foundation's board of trustees and the former Minister of Culture Farouk Hosny received the delegation.

A number of the foundation board of trustees members, which includes Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, renowned writer Mr. Mohamed Salmawy, TV Presenter Jasmine Taha Zaki, Dr. Aleya Abdel Hadi, Poet Wael El-Simary, Artist Ihab Al-Labban, Inas Louka, and Ahmed El-Dabaa, were there.

Hosny said that the Foundation deeply values this historic visit, adding that the Brooklyn Museum is the second largest museum in New York that offers distinctive activities and plays a remarkable role in spreading the spirit of culture and art.

Moreover, He praised the keenness of the museum’s board of trustees and its experts to visit the arts and cultural Cairo-based institution and meet its board of trustees. 

He also emphasized that such friendly cultural visits play a major role in bridging cultures and sustaining creative, knowledge-based dialogue, resulting in cross-cultural openness.

During their visit, the delegation toured the foundation and showed great interest in learning about its activities, furthermore, they also visited the foundation's museum and watched its collections which encompass Artist Farouk Hosny's art collections and his most prominent paintings that reflect the different artistic stages that he went through.

At the end of the meeting, Pasternak thanked Hosny for the warm reception and generous hospitality, expressing her great admiration for his inspirational, charismatic character and his exquisite fine art, in addition to the various museum collections and the diverse activities of the foundation.

She also extended an invitation to Hosny to visit the Brooklyn Museum in the near future.

The meeting was attended by a group of prominent figures and artists, such as Artist Mohamed Abla, Artist Samir Fouad, Artist Nazli Madkour, Artist Onsi Abou Seif, Artist Ahmed Ragab Sakr, and Artist Essam Darwish. 

Discussions about Egyptian art and modern contemporary art among the guests created an artistic dialogue in an atmosphere of friendliness and understanding.
