The Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts has officially announced the launch of the 7th Edition of the Arts Awards, which will begin on September 1, 2025.
The awards provide a prestigious platform for young Egyptian talents to showcase their creativity in the fields of painting, architecture, sculpture, art critique, and photography.
This annual initiative underscores the Foundation’s belief in the role of civil society in strengthening cultural and creative movements in Egypt.
It also reflects its ongoing commitment to discovering, supporting, and inspiring a new generation of artists and architects who will contribute to shaping the country’s cultural future.

Painting Award
The Painting Award carries a total prize value of EGP 150,000, with the first prize set at EGP 75,000 and a trophy, the second prize at EGP 50,000 with a certificate of appreciation, and the third prize at EGP 25,000 with a certificate of appreciation.
The jury for this category brings together leading names in Egyptian fine arts: Prof. Dr. Gamal Lamie, Head of the Department of Artistic Expression at the Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University; Samir Fouad, renowned fine artist; Mohamed Abla, celebrated contemporary artist; Dr. Ahmed Ragab Sakr, former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Minia University; and Dr. Akila Riyad, acclaimed fine artist.
Architecture Award
The Architecture Award also offers a total of EGP 150,000, distributed as EGP 75,000 for the first prize with a trophy, EGP 50,000 for the second prize, and EGP 25,000 for the third. Certificates of appreciation will additionally be awarded to distinguished projects.
The jury panel consists of distinguished academics and practitioners: Prof. Dr. Souhair Zaki Hawas, Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at Cairo University; Prof. Dr. Hesham Seoudy, Professor of Architecture and Urban Planning, former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University, and current President of the Alexandria Engineers Syndicate; Eng. Mohamed Abu Seeda, Head of the National Authority for Urban Harmony; Arch. Hamdi El-Stouhy, consultant for public building design, Head of the Cultural Development Fund Sector, and recipient of the 2024 State Award for Excellence in Arts; and Arch. Hatem Al-Saeed, architect and recipient of the State Award for Creativity in Architecture.
Sculpture Award
The Sculpture Award will grant a total of EGP 150,000, divided into EGP 75,000 for the first prize with a trophy, EGP 50,000 for the second prize, and EGP 25,000 for the third prize.
Its jury features leading sculptors and academics: Nagy Farid, visual artist and sculptor; Prof. Dr. Essam Darwish, Professor and Head of the Sculpture Department at the Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University; Prof. Dr. Marwa Youssef, Professor and former Head of the Sculpture Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University; Prof. Dr. Hassan Kamel, Professor of Sculpture at the Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University; and Tarek El-Koumy, sculptor, visual artist, and President of the Syndicate of Visual Artists.
Arts Critique Award
The Arts Critique Award carries a total value of EGP 100,000, offering EGP 50,000 and a trophy for the first prize, EGP 30,000 for the second prize, and EGP 20,000 for the third.
The jury for this award includes prominent intellectuals and critics: Prof. Dr. Saeed Tawfik, Professor of Aesthetics and Contemporary Philosophy at Cairo University, former Head of the Philosophy Department, and former Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture; Prof. Dr. Amal Mustafa Ibrahim, Professor and Head of the Department of Criticism and Artistic Appreciation at Helwan University; Prof. Dr. Hany Abo El Hassan, Professor at Alexandria University and former Head of the Cultural Development Fund Sector; Dr. Tarek Abdel-Aziz, writer and art critic; and Dr. Heba El-Hawary, writer and art critic.
Photography Award
Finally, the Photography Award has a total prize fund of EGP 150,000, with the first prize set at EGP 75,000 and a trophy, the second at EGP 50,000 with a certificate, and the third at EGP 25,000 with a certificate.
The photography jury includes figures from both visual arts and academia: Onsi Abou Seif, renowned cinematic production designer; Dr. Salma Yousef Kamel, Professor of Photography and Cinema and former faculty member at the Canadian University in Cairo; Dr. Naglaa Samir, Professor of Design at the American University in Cairo; Ayman Lotfy, acclaimed photographer; and Ayman Nassar, professional photographer.
In their closing remarks, the Board of Trustees and artist Farouk Hosny expressed profound gratitude to the jury members for their dedication and contributions, affirming that the Arts Awards have become a landmark of Egypt’s artistic movement and a vital source of inspiration for emerging generations of artists.
