Farouk Hosny Foundation Concludes Art Awards Seminar

Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts concluded Art Awards seminars, yesterday.

The final session was dedicated to art critique. Hosted at the El Hananger Arts Theater, the session was held under the theme of the role of the youth in enriching the art critique movement in Egypt. 

Dr. Saeed Tawfik, Dr. Hany Abo El Hassan, Dr. Amal Nasr, Dr. Tarek Abdel-Aziz, Dr. Amany Fawy, and director Mohamed Reda took part in the seminar, alongside a number of the foundation's officials, and young art critics. 

Nasr moderated the session. She started her talk by praising the activity of the arts in Egypt, but she called for more care from art critics in Egypt. 

She highlighted that art critics should shed light on art events, and major occasions in Egypt. 

On his side, Tawfik discussed the importance of Aesthetics for art critics. He also discussed the relationship between arts, literature, and modern philosophy. 

In the same context, Abdel Aziz reviewed the critical articles and essays in Egyptian media, and the difference between writing critical articles, and a critical book. 

On his side, Abo El Hassan talks about the role of the art critic, and the role art critics need to play in their societies. 

Therefore, he called all artists to introduce works that are easy to reach all people to create a real influence. 

Finally, Nasr reviewed the winning research papers and discussed their concepts with the artists and the audience.
