Farouk Hosny Award Jury Receives Semi-Finalists' Projects (Photos)

The jury of the Farouk Hosny Prize announced on Thursday that it received the semi-finalists' projects for final evaluation.

Next week, the jury will choose the projects that will qualify for the final round.

Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts announced a few weeks earlier the number of the participants at the foundation’s annual Art Awards Competitions.

The final number of participants is 793 and all of them are under 35 years old. They are competing in three main competitions: Drawing, Art Criticism, and Sculpture.

The number of participants at the Drawing Competition has been increased by 45 percent and the total amount of the awards reached 100 thousand L.E.

Regarding the Art Criticism competition, the number of participants is 23 from 5 different Egyptian governorates, and the total amount of the awards reached 60 thousand L.E.

Finally, there are 106 participants from different 17 governorates competing at the Sculpture competition; the total amount of the awards is 50 thousand L.E.

The names of the qualified artists who will participate in the semi-final rounds will be announced later.

Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts is an independent institution, based in Zamalek. Established at the end of 2019, it aims to support young artists in various branches of arts, culture, and creativity.
